winter tyres

Post by nickband » Mon Oct 01, 2007 5:39 pm

I have a set of 255x55x18 snow tyres which i would like to fit to my rs6 this winter. If i fiited them to a set of 18 inch rims, would they fit the rs6? Any clues?

It is realy the wheels you are checking then...?

I fitted a set of winter tyres to my B6 S4 last winter and in the cold they were awesome, in the snow/slush they were magnificent. In the warmer conditions > 10deg, they became very greasy and the car would slide a lot. Having said that, I would do it again.

I guess i am checking a combination of both. The smaller wheels will help but then I have a fatter tyres. These a Michelin Alpin brought in from France for a Touarag I had. I sold the car before winter cam so never used them.

Aren't the winter tyre sizes in the owners handbook? if not in yours then I can check my German version. Or I can check my winter tyres in the garage and see what size they are :-)
