Not been around for a bit. I got rushed into hospital a couple of weeks back with Ruptred Appendix
Took the car out for the first time today since the opp. On the way home, turning into my road I accelertaed but there was not gear, just a scream, then the gear caught hold.
Any ideas?

I have no idea, but I'm glad you're back in the saddle again.
I had wondered about your lack of posts.
Hope all is well now.

Glad to hear you are ok mate:)
Mine was doing that after Audi didn't put enough oil back in my gearbox and left the seal off the filter inside the box.
Have a look if she is leaking oil or not.....or you were pushing her to hard???

Nah I were not pushing. I was turning into my road, I accelerated quickly, but not hard.

Hate to be the bearer of possible bad news, but that slipping was the 1st warning for both times my Gearbox failed & needed replacing.
Symptom was accelerate from very low speed or even standstill & the revs would rise to say 3000ish RPM but no real traction/drive, then all of a sudden BANG & drive engaged & the car lunged forwards. This over the period of say 2-3wks got more frequent from it's initial appearance until the ECU decided the gearbox was fooked & then locked the box into limp mode (3rd gear).
Hope this is not the case with yours, but the symptom is near identical.

I strongly recommend checking fluid level aswell as leaks.
