off to Dundee tomorrow

Post by johnny11 » Fri Aug 10, 2007 6:04 pm

i`m off Dundee tomorrow to take my Daughter to see her granny for a few weeks, while there i`m getting the car serviced by Dundee Audi as its due in 1k, been told its a major one, oil, plugs etc, not the cam belt as that was done last year when the car turned 3 years old had 21k on the clock. I think the price i was quoted was around £460. Anyway good chance to give the 6 a real good run as its over 500miles from Surrey to Dundee, and of course i will not brake the law once

"off to Dundee tomorrow"... unlucky!

I am entitled to say that - I was born there.

Well I currently live nearly as far away as possible in the UK and I'm finalising plans to move to the other side of the planet if that answers your question...

these cars just eat the motorway up, done the journey in 9 hours that including stopping 3 times.
I`m in the the dealers on Tuesday morning for the service and hopefully gonna try the S5 out that they have there. Oh and sorry Ross i just cannot justify having another RS6, but i hope the sale goes well on yours

Hi Johny,

A little of topic do you go to Epsom Audi for your service? I ask because they were trying to qoute me £125.00 per hour labour +VAT! When i queried the price the reply was its because its an RS6!

Hi
thats one reason why i do not use them, the other reason is i have lost all confidence in them, as when i first got my RS6 i had a bass problem on the stereo if you remembe,r when i took it to them the service assistant didn`t even know how to turn the stereo on. Anyway back on service prices, up here in Dundee i`m paying i think £65 an hour which is less than half that Epsom charge and trust me the service you get is so much more proffesional, plus you get to give the car a really good run aswell. Have you tried Stoke Audi? the feedback i`ve heard from them is very positive plus the servive on the RS6 was i think around the £420 mark i also hear they have a tech there who just loves working on RS6`s too.
i hope this helps you in someway

P.S how much did you get for the S6 after all?

Hey Johnny,
Sorry mate I didn’t realise you’d replied! The S6 went £8k, so I did very well out of her. Back to cost for servicing etc, that’s a very good rate you get up in Scotland! Bit of a way to go for me though! Epsom have always been a bit hit and miss with service etc for me, its shame because they do have some very good people working there. I’ve got a good contact from S4woody at Dovercourt so I’ll be using him from now on. See you around!
