jerky gearbox

Shortly after purchasing my RS6 it developed a jerky gearbox which frequently triggered a power down in the engine. I got this fixed by audi who discovered a leaking gearbox gasket, but the problem is still there. It's not quite as jerky but it's now started whining. Anyone else suffered this problem or knows what it is?

Mine isn't jerky at all, in fact it is very smooth, but it does whine in 1st + 2nd sometimes under full throttle, so if you find out what it is i would be pleased to hear. I took Ray West out in mine and he wondered if it might be a leaking seal somewhere in the gearbox which causes the box to loose a bit of pressure and thus causes a slightly dodgey gear change...mine struggles to handle the power sometimes between 1st and 2nd.

Gearbox whining and jerky gearchanges are early signs which always lead up to gearbox failure.
If you have warranty, get it replaced.

Has anyone actually done the manual conversion the MTM Clubsport had using the RS4 'box? I imagine it's loads of work, but how much?

I had a similar issue, and a gearbox oil change (£200) did the job.
