well its been quite a good weekend.

today on the m11 i cought up with a bentley conti gt which was trying to get a move on obviously not as much as me

when the lane was free we both went and i got to say i thought the bentley would pull but i was welded to his bumper upto a speedo showing ?65 i could of crept past him if he moved over but certainly not flew past.

we slowed down and he moved over and the look of his face to see some big old estate car was worth it lol

couple of questions

why no 155 limiter on the rs6 ?
what does a standard rs6 do mph ?
if i chip it does is make a massive in gear difference to times i.e would it have flew past him well before those figures ?

for the record im not condoing breaking the speed limit it was silly and stupid but thats why we drive rs6 an not tdi

Yes... unless you've already had one!

AFAIK Audi tend not to be so strict with the 250kph limit that Merc & BMW strangle their motors with....

...mine is standard (I think  ) and I once saw an indicated speed with a 7 in the middle, on a famous private road in Scotland with a "9" and an "A" in it  - and still no sign of the limiter intervening... :D

Don't forget the speedo's are accurate above 100mph or whatever! I'm fairly sure my motorbike speedo is out by 10%, so if your RS is the same, 165mph on the clock may only ( ) be 149mph.......

My RS6 speedo was very definitely 10% optimistic. (measured with 2 different GPSs) I had it to an indicated 170 on the Autobahn before I lost my bottle and it wasn't flat out.

Thats nothing  , I ventured down to London last Wednesday, and when I exited one of the tunnels on the M25, check out the speed confirmed by my road angel! 8)

Sorry that its a bit blurred, but clearly at 879mph its understandable that my passenger was struggling to keep the camera on the mobile phone steady.

Imagine what it would do if remapped! (that merc next to me was doing quite well also, must be AMG or McLaren or something?)

LMAO nice one Steve!

I love a play in the car, unfortunately I am never on open enough roads to get any action, if I am on open road generally means I am travelling with the mrs... 500bhp g-forces send her into spasm fits so my fun times are limited.

Looking forward to playing with something in my league... although I did have the pleasure of toasting a Ferrari 355 2nd - 3rd - 4th :D

Only way of checking your speedo' accuracy is with certified stop watch using formula - speed = distance / time, or with GPS which is fairly accurate.

For example - measured half mile - 60secs time = 30mph. same distance, 30 secs time = 60 mph. 15 secs time = 120 mph etc etc etc

I could, if you wish, arrange for your vehicles to be checked to see if they are as fast as the indicated speed is on the speedo with contacts I have who use the necessary equipment - you might not like the court appearance afterwards though

(only joking)

On the B6 S4 with std wheels the speedo always showed about 3-4mph (5mph at higher speeds) higher than true speed. On 19" it dropped to a consistant 2mph all through the range.

its not big and its not clever but today seemed to be one of those days when people fancied a play - private road was clear(ish), sun was shining and a 330d, Cayenne S and a new jag xkr were seen off fairly quickly...big surprise was the Y plate beemer, wasnt as much of a slouch as I'd have thought...
