Wondering if everyone on this forum has had a DRC issue ....

Twice for me within 6 months of ownership and ive only done 3000 miles.

I think the problems occur when the dealers dont know what they are doing first time round

Yep, within 500 miles in the space of two months:

1) Front shocker
2) Rear shocker
3) All remaining shockers plus leaking pipes
4) Accumulators
5) Re-bleed the system to set ride height

Yes....took delivery of the car last October and on 5the same day had the car inspected at York Audi only to find both front valves had failed...Supplier sanctioned replacements there and then..

I'm sure this is what I'm going through at the moment. Having the rear left being replaced

A minority 'No' here. But keeping fingers crossed. In for a service shortly and have asked them to inspect so will know more then.

As this is a known problem, I think the results are fairly predictable (81% Yes at the time of writing).

I think what would also be useful to know is :-

a) the success of the fix - ie do Audi simply replace the whole system, and then you have an 80% chance of it failing again, or is it a proper fix? Ie an improved system based on the B7 RS4 (or does that have its problems too?);

b) other solutions - replacement by "normal" suspension. What have owners done? Obviously, the likes of a coilover system (without the DRC central control valve) solves the DRC problem, but how effective is it in controlling the roll of large weighty supercar?

a) Thats the main problem, most of the UK dealers don't have a clue.
And some of the info provided to US dealers, that its compulsory to replace the accumulators whenever there is a leak (see self study program) has not been issued by Audi UK, which means that DRC fixes carried out by UK dealers are next to useless. So there is no such thing as a proper fix.
Plus the dealers only replace the leaking item, which doesnt help either.
I think the B7 RS4 uses the same system and is not improved, which means it will inherit the same issues and problems a few years down the line !

b) afaik, you get much more roll with coilovers and many setups are just not up to the job due to the sheer weight of the car.

I had my accumulators replaced and system re-pressurised. However, one month on I am starting to feel the pedal vibration again, although admittedly its very infrequent and only noticable if you go over train tracks for example. Not sure then if this is acceptable, i.e. whether all RS6s exhibit this. Had the car in at Audi who said they felt the vibration on two occasions on a 30 mile run, but could not locate the fault, hence nothing done. Not very confidence inspiring .......... and obviously concerned in the future I am going to have the DRC problems come back to haunt me when my used car warranty runs out.

Then, after spending months at 4 seperate dealers, and after almost replacing everything to do with DRC with brand new parts, it still wasn't right.
So got rid of it and bought a Golf

Audi were happy with it, as they could not fault it, RAC inspection were happy with it, and the new owner is more than happy with it.
...I was just SICK of it !
