I'm down at MRC on Saturday for a new set of rear discs & pads ... anybody in the locality then please feel free to drop by to say hello. Seen as MRC supplied Grizz with his new Bilstein set-up I was going to speak to Doug about fitting it too mine next time the DRC fails ... that'll be in 3 or 4 months then on current past performance .

On the same theme I was wondering how many other RS6 owners are/would consider swapping the suspension out. If there's a few people interested I'll ask Doug if he would be able to put a group buy price together with a view that if they can order in multiple suspension kits they'll get discount which they can pass onto forum members.

From my perspective the work would comprise ...
- Removal of DRC system inc shocks, springs, accumulators & valves
- Installation of coil over kit (be it Bilstein, Ohlins, KW, etc)
- Installation of replacement anti-roll bars
- Installation of replacement suspension bump stops (not sure if this is required or comes as part of the coil over kit?)
- Set-up of suspension
- 4 wheel lazer alignment

Anything I've missed???

Just to make it clear I'm not actually arranging a group buy at this time I'm just getting a feel of numbers for a possible future group buy a few months down the line.

Rich As and when mine goes, then i would probably go down the coil over route. I would like to however find out what exactly it does to the handling and ride. My worry would be that it would be taking a step backwards in ride and handling dynamics. This might not be the case at all of course! However until mine causes a problem i will be sitting tight with audi's offering, and touching wood a lot

As this system is unique to the RS6 (I think?) it surely wouldn't be that detrimental to the handling if the replacement set up was of good quality and fitted properly? I would certainly look into this as an option if (when) it fails.

I'm certainly interested, but I that is a bit dependant on price. My DRC has just started to show signs it going on the rear shock, and its due for a service soon, so which route I go down depends on what Audi quote.....I will be sitting down when I ask.

Well I had a good chat with Doug regarding the Bilstein kit. As always he'd be prepared to do us a deal on the price of the kit. He's quoted £1300 inc VAT to supply the kit plus the usual MRC labour rate for fitting ... he expects about 4 hours labour so roughly another £200 on top. He doesn't want to give a fitted cost as the oem suspension might come off easy or it might be a struggle in which case the labour charge goes up. He can pull the existing DRC system out or leave it in situ depending on what people want. Again if there a few of us interested he would see if could get some more discount if he ordered multiple kits which he would then pass on to us. Doug rates the Bilstein systems so would advocate the installation of PSS9's over other kits on the market. As for the anti-roll bars it's down to owners choice ... I think the RS6.com owners fit H&R ARBS if I remember correctly.

Has any UK RS6 owner already got the PSS9 kit fitted or will Grizz be the first?
