When your engine is warm enough, could you hold the rev's at 2000 and tell me if you feel a vibration in anyway.

This is when in neutral.

I get this on mine and was told it "could" be normal?

Feed back before Tuesday lunch time would be good as car's in Audi and I'm picking up late afternoon.

Thanks in advance. (don't wake the neighbours tonight though ;) )

Tried that this morning, held the revs at 2000, and did not feel any vibration.

No excessive vibration on mine ... when my engine/gearbox mount went I could feel a noticeable vibration at idle (never tried at any other revs) due to the loss of damping.

Rich.

Thanks Rich,

Car's in again tonight because of rear window replacement.

Please give your engine a little 2 rpm for me and let me know it doesn't vibrate so i can tell Audi with confidence mine's not right.

Please?

Thanks

Its probably people like me (non RS6 owners) wanting a piece of the action and being nosey! Plus, doubt there are anywhere near 156 registered users with RS6's, let alone visit here regularly!

Nosey buggers ;)

In my opinion i don't think this is right, just wanted some RS6 owners to clarify so i had something better to go on when I speak to Audi.

Picking car up later today so if anyone else has feedback it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

From a non RS6 owners point of view, 2k isn't a lot of revs, so I would expect it to purr and no vibrations what so ever, unless its done lots of miles and is normal wear and tear. How many miles has it done? Age of car?

2003 and 50k miles.

Think I'm going to get them to look again this afternoon.

Fingers crossed another RS6 owner will be there with his too.

Thanks

I consider that new and low mileage!

Yep - I'll be there so you can hear a real one purring!!

BTW - I was going to respond to your request, but you asked us to do it "tomorrow morning" - I keep checking each day I get up, but so far tomorrow hasn't come!

Dave
