Breaking questiion, (not the 600 bhp ;) )

I was lucky enough to make a journey to the south coast yesterday and because it was something i had to pick up from a workshop and get back soon i have to be quick.
A lot of the roads were "A roads" with some "B roads"
I noticed after a lot of breaking they didn't have the same kind of grip as when cooler.
As far as I'm aware they are std pads and drilled disks.
Who's upgraded there pads but kept the same discs?
How much better are they when using the breaks allot?
Are they still good when cold?
Do they wear the disc out allot quicker?
Are they more "squeaky" than std?
What are they and would you get them again?
Oh...... so many questions

I'm using ebc redstuff ceramic pads and they are definately more resistant to fade than the o.e pads and there is no squeal at low speeds. However if you use them hard they are noisier than the standard pads and rumble quite loudly, but they still work even at the smoking stage.

I use Pagid blue. Very similar in behaviour as the standard pads, but without the fading. Disc wear is about the same as the standard pads as well.
By the way, it looks like DBA will release brake discs for the RS6 very shortly........

Are they more "squeaky" than std? a little bit when new/not used for a while...not excessive though and goes away after a couple of uses
What are they and would you get them again? yes - the only pad I run on all cars for road/track
bear in mind (as I found out) you will need some 'blanking plugs' so you dont get the brake worn sensor on the DIS - the Pagids dont come with the sensors so keep your old wires/plugs and cut the wires, solder the leads together and put the 'blank' plug back on the sensor wires .....thanks to Rupert who sent me a spare set after the dustbin men took mine away !
