Heard on 'the other forum' that a London dealer has taken 1500 quid as deposit for the new RS6. Should they really be taking money this early?
Anyone else paid up?

Dealers will take money for anything prior to launch, hear say what ever - Does not really mean anything until order is placed.

My dealer took a deposit on the "Pikes Peak", now Q7, 2.5 years ago and the same for the R8 when it was the Le mans Quattro.....

I've been on the pre-list for the new RS6 for well over 18mths (No.1 at my local Audi dealer), however they know me very well (i know the MD quite well), so would only take money off me when they have to & i guess assuming the car is launched that would be just after the launch.
Heard a rumour (possibly on here or PH), that the car is being unveiled at a show in March this year.

My local dealership keeps trying to get me to put a deposit down ... £1500 fully refundable deposit to get my name on there list for any future car regardless if it has been confirmed for production or not (... TT RS, etc). Thing is it seems a lot of money just to get your name further up the queue than the next man. Even if it does come into existence I might not like/want the next RS6 so all I will have gained is giving Audi interest on my £1500 for x number of months ... not like they're short of money. Ultimately I'd like to see what I was buying first before committing money ... or should I say trying to convince the wife it was a good idea. Plus getting a model later in the production runs means any problems should (**hmmm or maybe not***) have been ironed out. Maybe some B7 RS4 owners might be able to shed some light on the matter?
Rich.

Hi Daz - would only sell if I had too, and house renovation has wiped us out, and some! Clinging on to it for dear life.
I agree with Rich, as nice as it must be to have the first one, and it would make one feel an Audi VIP, I think it's worth holding off for 6 months or so for a new one, or even see what nearly new prices do. It also buys a bit more time to get the money together and yes, convince the wife....

lmfao, class mate !!
I could tell a few stories about buying watches, last time I was buying a TAG in the metro centre gateshead.
They must have thought I was wealthy or something because they came out with this £5000 miobile phone
that was satellite operated, and had a years free concierge service with it, try like crazy to get me to buy it.
Had to tell them I already had one to save face haha.
