Having wheels refurb as we speak

Post by RSVI » Tue Jan 09, 2007 10:50 am

Having the wheels refurb as we speak.

Should i keep the colour as std or is it not a bad idea to change to a darker shade?

Quick views would be handy as the paint's going to be mixed in 30 min's (10.15am)

Thanks

Mmmm..........................

Not overly impressed with the finish but they're loads better than before.

Company I got the car from paid for the refurb so nothing lost. A few marks, few bits (dust/grit) and what looks like a bubble :? could just need a bit of good polish/compound when i get the time.

I'll have a good look next time i get a chance, then decied whether to ask for them to be done again.

They were finished at 1PM today and my good lady put a kerb signature on the front drivers side at 7PM :( only a 1/2" mark but isn't it sods law

Still not had the chance for a good cleaning sessions, then pic's will be online :D

After looking this morning there's also a tear on the rim lip ot the tyre that's there to cushion the wheels when rubbing up to a kerb.

This tear is more of a flap that just needs sticking back.

What the best thing to use? Some kind of silicone based glue or would super glue be ok?

Rubber adhesive, as in a bicycle puncture repair kit seems the logical choice to me.

Had the tyre looked at by Guildford tyres and they said it's ok.

Down to the "push bike shop" later then :D

Try some neoprene glue e.g. Seamann Sub from a local dive shop. It's black!

I gave Super glue ago and so far, so good.

It was only a small bit that needed sticking back, but if it comes loose that "neoprene glue" sounds like a good idea. Also happens to be a scuba shop a few doors down from me.

Thanks
