I would, and I did !
Stage 1 remap is fantastic and gives the RS6 loads more midrange punch. It then becomes blistering :D
Catback gives it the noise that it deserves.
If it has warranty, then there should be no real problems in buying a tuned one.

I've found my stage 1 re-map (engine+gearbox) only seems to put people off. private and trade!!! Currently trying to sell

Many traders believe if 450BHP isn't enough then your obviously driving the car really hard and always want that extra. Therefore they think it's been thrashed!! There all idiots, what if I had a civic type R... would they expect you never to hit the rev limiter @ 9,000rpm.

Think i'll keep hush hush next time. Such a shame as the re-map has change the car drastically. I could never warrant spending the extra coin on sports cats especially as it would'nt add an ounce to the re-sale value.

Hmm, thats what I thought, and sorry to say probably would think buddy, hence I didnt even bother viewing cars that had been re-mapped when I was on the hunt for mine.
Cheers

Bit of a tricky one to answer, as both my RS'es have been "improved".

If you're unsure about what to do with the RS6, then why not try the Revo code (Free Trial). If you then decide to go for it it has the benefits of valet mode (Reduced Power), stock, tuned, and immobilised.

I think there are several reported 'issues' with Revo trial code. It's worth searching around other forums. Most of
the stories appear to be apocryphal but are still alarming nevertheless. If you are concerned about the impact of
remapping then you are probably safest getting hold of a spare ECU.

I agree, a modded RS does not command any more when it comes to resale, over a normal one.
But that can then work to your advantage if you're buying, as RS6's are quite expensive to tune and if you're going to mod anyway, its worth looking for a tuned one for pretty much no extra cost.

If I was going to do it, I would likely travel to AMD.
However Im currently happy with the standard performance,
and I dont forsee the need to increase that, although obvioulsy
I am inquisitive as to what sort of difference it makes !

My personal opinion is that theres no point in owning a turbo car when it can be remapped so easily. I've had it done to all my past cars, Golf T, S4, RS4, with no real issues. And it makes such a noticable difference.
You might aswell enjoy its true potential whilst you have it !

Agreed but it will decrease the longevity of your engine and transmission !

I for one wouldnt like to pass on a car to the next owner knowing fine, that id
taken the best life out of it.

Im not for a second saying your a thrasher though.,

I would say that 99% of the revo trial woes are BS. A second ECU is a solution, but would suggest investigating the practicality.
