Just looked at your previous posts. You lucky article - Layer cake is one of the best British films in the past 5 years and the silver avant is a great supporting artist. Pitty it doesnt get its feet dirty like the S6 in Ronin.

As to the cambelt service - if your going main dealer prepared to be raped. Worth the trip to a good independent - youve got your pick within a 75 mile radius.

Reading Audi changed my belt and the appropriate rollers etc for £880. That was back in early June.

On Wednesday this week for three days they are 40k servicing the monster so I will report back on the damage. It is going to be a big bill as all tyres, discs and pads are being changed and the water pump is being replaced. My dealer has said that they have had a number of RS6's in with water pumps leaking at about 50k-60k. To change it requires the front of the car removed so I am having this done while the front of the car is off for the cambelt etc to be changed. I have a knocking from the nearside rear when it is cold and the car has been left overnight. This has got to be a shock absorber which has already been replaced once. I am also taking the advise from certain people here and having the gearbox oil replaced. I have applied for a second mortgage and I am selling a kidney but I am not sure if even this will be enough.

:D Perhaps we can start a sweep stake...

I reckon 40K=£500, Cam=£900, tyres £1050, XD Discs & Pads £2100, Gear oil £150... £4,700 total
(I'm assuming the water pump & suspension is under warranty)

Dont forget the labour rate of £98 plus VAT. I had the cambelt change the service and new rear discs and pads plus new undertray and a new set of wipers.......£2500 all inclusive, they felt charitable as the origional bill was £2900. Jokers!!

I was £1500 inclusive of vat, for a major service and cam belt, replacing all tensioners etc. I had mine done at 34,000 miles as the car had just turned 3 years old.
