Hi guys
It's been about 4 months since I sold my RS6 and I have to say I miss it. What a car, epic.
Still love my CSL though, its a keeper, I'll never sell it.
Seems busy in here these days. Loved the meet pics.
So who is totally underwhelmed by the S6? I am.

My dealer asked me if I knew anybody that wanted one - thats how quickly they're shifting.

Replied Bob
Saw one in blue and it was ok'ish, but brakes looked suspect. It just doesn't have that menacing presence, the front is too soft.
Love the avatar btw, need to copy that for the CSL

Is that the Sprint Blue one at Chester Audi? I thought it was totally the wrong colour for a big car. I'm just glad I went for the S8 and not the S6.

Hi bbigman- 5.2 V10. Turned into a nice replacement for my RS6, which was the same colour as your's is. It's not as rapid as the RS6, but is acceptably close, though I feel it handles better and turns in well, with less understeer, despite its size. Biggest noticeable difference is the smoother ride on bumpy roads. Dips and bumps mid corner always seemed to want to throw my RS6 off line, but the S8 absorbs them without drama.

Evening Damon, not left the road backwards into a hedgerow yet then in the CSL!?
Dealer approached me also about the S6 which made me laugh, he said "I can see you in the new S6", I won't repeat what I said

Although there are a few aspects that show promise for the new RS6, I can imagine how they will evil-it-up a bit and the interior is a very nice place to be... most importantly though is a full size spare
Kev, your S8 looks superb, I bet it drives like a dream, admittedly I haven't yet seen one in the flesh. Although low on the priority stakes for a car like that; whats the fuel consumption and running costs like in comparison to your old RS6?

Fuel consumption is slightly less on a run, but it's only done 2000 miles, so will probably be about the same once the engine's loosened up. In crawling traffic it's dire- got 5mpg on the journey to work this morning. (RS6 would do 10mpg in the same conditions). I reckon the running costs (forgetting depreciation) will be a lot less, with servicing about a third of the cost and a cam chain, not belt.

Likewise. Just sold the RS6 and had the CSL for 6 weeks. Great value for money and a real hoot.
Main problem with the RS6 was its cost especially on the 3rd year maintenance and depreciation.
I must admit I sat in an S6 and S8 in northampton audi and thought the S8 was the business. Would have liked to try them both. I am thinking about an older S8 for a daily drive next year and the CSL tucked up in the garage a little more if I dont manage to curb the amount of work miles I am doing.
