If you take it into Audi and are told it's nothing, then take it back again. Smoke from anywhere isn't right, with perhaps the exception of melting a set of discs on a hard days track driving. I notice in your other post Jezzer asked if the car has come from a certain dealership, perhaps they can shed some light on it? If you've only just bought it, you have 21 days I believe to take it back. Hope you get it sorted.

Of course you always get smoke and sometmes flames when the wife takes the new RS6 out and forgets to take the handbrake off until she gets to Tesco. At which point the discs are glowing orange.

Get to Audi unless by some chance you have cooked the brakes

Is this small leak on the floor about half way down the length of the car and some sort of light liquid difficult to identify? If it is, then this is condensation expelled from the air conditioner. Had me worried the first time I discovered it (had this on three Audis now). It feels almost like a very light lubricating oil when you rub it between your fingers.
You definitely shouldn't be getting smoke from anywhere, although I've had a 'burning' smell from the exhaust after driving over a muddy road when its splashed up, or been baked after the car has been parked. You also get a lot of steam issuing out from under the bonnet when you park up on a cold rainy day.

Had smoke coming from the turbo area of the engine bay one afternoon at Brunters. Put it down to turbo not being used to the pressures of track. Never took it to the garage. All is fine now and that was 5 months ago.

I've never encountered a smell of smoke from my car. I probably drive my RS6 like a pansy compared to a lot of people though!

If the engine has recently been replaced though, it could be the smell from a thin protective film of lubricant which covered the new unit. When I bought a new impreza turbo some years ago the dealer warned me in advance that I might notice a smokey smell from the engine for the first 1000 miles or so and that's what it would be.

My 6+ certainly pongs a bit if I give it some stick...can't tell were from though and it's always done it, 26K miles now.
