According to the Audi UK site there appears to be a few 04 and even 05 cars around. The prices seems to fluctuate that much it's hard to guess what the price might be next February, it all depends on mileage and whether you buy privately, Main Dealer or other garages. I'm sure there will be one or two around at that price somewhere though.

Thanks gents. Few more questions if you don't mind ?
If i buy the RS6 it will replace my wife's BMW Touring which is used as a daily driver. Do you think car's up to abuse of school run & M&S car park ?! Seriously tho' , as it'll be our daily will we get caned on fuel costs and servicing costs? High mileage doesn't seem an issue , is this right?

I would have thought the servicing costs will be similar to a performance BMW....I am getting about 17mpg average at the mo, and that isn't hoofing it around every where, but 30's and 40mph speed limits with a reasonable amount of traffic, and the odd burst of fun when the road clears.

I think you're unlikely to pick up an '04 model for that sort of money, but you might want to take a look at this '02 model :

Unless you happen to find one with a very high mileage I think you'd be hard-pressed to find an 04 plate for £36k. I think you'd need about £40k for a nice one with low mileage.

As to whether it's up to the school run and car park stuff, the answer is a definite yes. Although we'd normally use our RS6 exclusively at weekends, my wife has been on maternity leave most of the past year so she's used the car for lots of day to day stuff as well (shopping, nursery runs, coffee mornings etc)...so much so that we sold her octavia estate as it was sitting never being used as she loves driving the audi so much! The only caveats are that you can almost see the fuel gauge dropping in this kind of driving (expect 13-14mpg around town), and it's a big car which isn't at its best in tight parking situations (though the park assist helps immensely).

Thanks Gary. The 5 Touring's about the same size so it should'nt be too much trouble for her.
The 04 Misano car with 19k miles listed above is for sale @ £37k . That's close enough for me ;)

If the car checks out to be sound, that looks like quite a keen price. My suspicion would be that it's not quite the bargain it seems though, e.g. needs servicing/tyres/brakes, but then I always was a cynical old sod :)

Do post as to how you get on.

Gary.

I think gary is probably right. I saw a couple of mis used examples from Auto trader before I bought mine (from my local audi dealer by chance!) I recommend you tread very carefully before buying...
