I have got the lucky job at the weekend of changing a set of rear discs and pads on a friends RS6. 2002 MY
I have just ordered the discs and pads, but is there anything else I am likley to need??
any sort of bearings or washers / spacers ??
Just so I can get the job done in one go ! !

Many Thanks, James. :?:

the wife drove mine for the first time to Tescos this week and rang me when she got there with the immortal words 'dont be angry with me but'.

turned out she had left the handbrake on a touch all the way there and when she got out the rear discs were an orange glow and the wheels were smoking good and proper.

I asked her how bad it was and she said that she was slighly embarrased standing in the car park as everybody was looking at her.

i guessed at what to do and got her to make sure the discs cooled slowly with a little driving and made sure she did not put the h/brake on after.

Suprisingly all seems ok with the brakes. I will take it in Friday to see if they need changing now but no wobble or vibration and still some pad there.

Therefore hopefully wont be changing mine this week!!!!

Hi James,

You need no extras at all. You dont even need to remove the caliper carriers.
With the pads you will get some new slider plates so make sure you fit those.

Hope this helps and good luck even though you wont need it!

Ash
