What is the most easy and cheap car to mod? And with equal $$$ spend who will be the fastest and with more top end? Sedan or Avant?

THink you find that the RS4 will be cheaper to mod than the RS6

RS4 is the cheap option as RS6 much more expensive, with RS4 it doesn't matter as its a cheap car, with RS6 always buy the Avant or you will lose your shirt, no one and I mean no one buys the saloon RS6 if they want any sort of value at the end of their ownership. Best

5yr old cars with >100k on the clock are still fetching the right side of 20k, hardly cheap in my book.

5 years old and still fetching £30,000? Hmmm...

I had 45k to spend on either, and chose the RS4, and not because it was "cheap".

Sorry to be blunt, but that statement re: Avant vs Saloon & residuals is total <beep>. I own a saloon & have kept my eye on residuals both in the relevant trade journals, dealers & real world sale prices & their is no difference in residuals between the Avant & Saloon. The only caveat is that an Avant may sell very slightly quicker, but truth be known (the dealers know this) their are over twice as many RS6 avants in the UK than Saloons & the exclusivity/rarety of Saloons is starting to tip the balance (fact).

I know that the RS4 can by bought for 35k euros and the RS6 about 65k euros, but the RS4 has already 2 generation on it that put it like a old car. The RS6 is more new and only has 1 generation above. And in the next year their quote may drop consideraly due to the new generation A6.

I suppose that the saloon has a lower CdxA than the avant, which it makes it faster above 200kph.

What i meant to ask is, with 10k euros which one will be faster, RS4 or RS6?

Is the RS6Plus very superior than the RS6, or with 10k of engine mods in both, they will be in the same performance level?

It's a tough question as the RS4 is lighter & possibly more power can be eaked from it for 10K Euros than with an RS6, however the RS6 has a 70BHP head start so it could be close.

IMHO, the money would be better spent on an RS6, but being an owner i would say that & agree with the generation aspect.

I've been head to head with an MTM modified RS4 & my RS6 pulled away very easily above 60MPH but this was on a private runway although the reported power outputs for both the MTM RS4 & my modified RS6 were not wildy apart & the RS4 as said does have a weight advantage.

Get an RS6.
