brake expenses

How much have people paid to change their brake pads/ discs front/rear?

Expect not alot of change out of £900 for front discs, pads & fitting

And the rest....! I was getting quotes of about £1400 if I remember rightly or would that be because they would be including rears I cant remember?

That would be for front and rears. Just had the same quote at my first service and only 5500 miles. My reply... if you want to fit them under warranty go ahead.

No warranty cover on these parts. I didn't bother to push it as this conversation was with the service girl, the reason given was corosion. I know there is nothing wrong with these, no cracks, no warping etc.

just quoted 370 inc for front pads - ouch!

Thats what i paid a couple of months ago, although it was a dealer in London, so if it had not been urgent i'd have got them done for about £325 at my local dealer.

No idea how much it would be for front discs & rear pads. No doubt i'll find out soon.

Anyone remember when you could get discs skimmed and of you went again?

This is why I took out the "service plan", which on the face of it looks expensive but when you factor in a set of fronts (at least) every 12-18 months it becomes cheap!

Mine entire front set were replaced at it's first major service, at 10 months!
