Anyone know of the new "575bhp" RS6? Due in approximately 24 months.

I have heard that it will use a normally aspirated 5.4 V10 giving about 575BHP. It will have a DSG as standard.

Does this mean that there will be no S6? Otherwise that's a huge gap between the 4.2 A6 and the RS6. If there is an S6 will it be the RS4 engine or the 'old' RS6 engine? Speculation welcome!

I thought the next RS6 was going to pack 500bhp,the current model puts out 450bhp and given that the new RS4(unveiled on Monday 21st Feb) has had a power hike of just 40bhp to 420bhp,i would think 500 would be a more realistic mark to expect.
That would put it on a footing to compete with the new M5.

So surely the RS4's 420PS would suit the S6 well to sit between 335PS of A6 4.2 and 500PS of RS6? That would be quick enough for me especially as the A6 is only a tad (c80kg) heavier than the A4.

Yep, so much so that they are using it in the Bugatti Veyron's powertrain...1001bhp!

The new RS6 will handle like a dog and be slower than the top Q7, which will be a Turbo Cayenne beater with its V10 engine.
I wish the European manufacturers would stop chasing the US market which, in Audi's case, is tiny and stagnant when compared to the EU and Chinese markets.
The US market wants 0-60 and Quarter mile bragging rights with soft suspension, high ground clearance and seats for lardy bummed passengers. These are not ideal cars for Europe. Where the roads are smoother and narrower and the cities are congested and full of trams.

Is the UK not still part of Europe?! The roads/motorways are certainly smoother on the continent compared with the UK from what I have experienced. In particular the roads in the South of England are congested, poorly surfaced/maintained, covered in speed bumps and cameras.
Maybe Audi should standardise switchable suspension as in the 997? Say, 1 for le continent and 2 for UK crap town/city roads..
IMHO, the driving experience in CA last year was superb - excellent climate and lots of twisties and no traffic jams!!
