Tyre Prices??

The Beasts shoes are starting to look a little tired & after her track outing at Combe on Saturday, she'll be needing them replaced. Decided to replace with what was on their OEM, so it will be the Conti's (she's on the 19" 5 spokes).

Not sure of prices so have rung around (i'm lazy & want to drive her in, get fitted & balanced & drive out). Kwik Fit were stupid money & they have a habit of damaging wheels, so tried a smaller place close to my office & was quoted £236.32 per corner including VAT & fitting, so £945.28 for the whole shooting match.

Is this a good price or am i having my leg lifted??

I just paid £225 inc. each tyre for some pirelli rossos so sounds OK to me. Is it true you have to put same tyre makes on each axle?

Cheers,

Did think the price seemed OK.

I'm just glad the tyre wear has been pretty even between the fronts & rears & both sides of the car.

Don't think it makes a big difference as to different makes on different axles, however given its a £60K car & that once my Sportec mods are fitted, the car will be putting out around 550BHP, i'm going to replace all 4 with the same brand.

I changed the front two following a visit to Bedford Autodrome - the tyre wall was completely worn and the sides had chunks out of them - I am going back on 23rd april to the autodrome so put the new ones on the back and swapped the backs to the front - dont suppose bedford could tempt your 945 sovs worth of rubber could it??  :D

I just had all four Michellin Pilot Sport 2 tyres changed by my dealer for £1000+VAT. The slight problem is that I had only done about 8k miles from new. I have the RS6+ with the MTM 505BHP upgrade.
