The Fastest In the West MTM RS6

Post by mikecbiggle » Tue May 18, 2004 8:57 pm

I am reliably told by Kim at QST that I am the only fool to go for the mashings on my RS6....am I right.

I was the guinea pig but what a car I ended up with.

I've had an RS2, RS4 and finally an RS6...all of which have been tweaked to the max and at one time I had all three.

Some of you may remember me as one of the prime campaigners to get the old bendy wheels of the RS4 fixed and along with the staunch help of Kevin Rose MD, we suceeded.

So my RS6 arrived and sat on my drive alongside my RS4 and RS2 both twekaed to the eyeballs.

Off to Kim at QST I went. First the chip from MTM. Big difference. Seconf the exhaust from...I forget...but no difference in power whatsoever.

And then the biggee..the MTM mashings...engine out. Gearbox out. New everything including turbos.

Is it fast yes. Did it shred a gearbox within the first week yes. Did Kim stick by it and sort it out yes.

Want to know more...!!!

Oh yes, please tell us more. Want to know if the MTM set-up is any better than the AmD set-up that i went for. Interested to hear about the gearbox, as AmD re-mapped mine along with the engine ECU & i've had no problems with the box handling all the 500+BHP on tap.

Would be interested to know more Mike - what kind of BHP do you think you're running now? Have you done brake work, suspension work etc?

Nice to hear that Kim stuck by you when you trashed a gearbox.

Was it your RS6 getting the 580hp pack and weight cure at MTM 3 weeks ago ?
