Am looking at a couple of RS6 avants. Some have, and some don't have, x-drilled brakes. What is the considered opinion on these guys? Any help most welcome!
Cheers

I got them from new so i do not no anything different, i have covered just over 1000 miles and they are amazing.
Unless you are going to do a full 5k Movit upgrade it is cross drilled all the way, you will need them or you could spec the anchor to throw out the window to stop you!!

Hmm - I have cross drilled and it would "appear" they need replacing on the front every 15k miles.... One to research. The solid disc guys have issues with hairline cracks I think - best to search RS246 and RS6.com to make informed decision.

Well, I'm one of those guys - first set cracked at ~9k miles, changed out under warranty at 11k. There hadn't been much real impact on braking performance, but I suspect it was making the brakes eat pads faster than normal.
I now have the same issue on the front discs again, although this time I'm not sure how many miles they have done. If they're not going on under warranty, I may think about drilled, but I'm not entirely sure they'll really cure the underlying cause of brake problems.
Really what's needed is an aftermarket hat to mount the brakes on to force a bit more air through the discs. I did wonder if drilling extra vent holes in the outer rim of the hat could be an option (not that I'd be willing to try it myelf) , but I'd be concerned about the impact that would have on the hat's strength.
