Good Afternoon

Just joined the RS246 forum after hearing about it on the Tyresmoke Forum.

Up until today i was the proud owner of a 2002 Avus Silver S8 S-Line & prior to the S8, i'd owned a couple of TTC 225's along with a ZX12R & a Mondeo V6 GhiaX as my run-around. Towards the end of last year, i decided to leave motorcycling for a while, following the deaths of a few riding pals, so was just left with the Mondy & TTC. I then decided it was crazy owning & running 2 cars, so i ditched the TT & Mondy & purchased the S8. This did not quite satisfy my hunger & the car was a tad too large for everyday use, so i've part-exchanged that & i'm now chomping at the bit to get into my RS6.

I say up until today, as i've just traded her in for an Ebony Black Nov 2003 RS6 Saloon :D which i collect when i return from vacation on the 22nd April. Have to say that i'm more than a little excited :P

The spec is pretty standard & she has only covered 6000 miles, having been my local Audi Dealer Principals transport since new, followed by a few weeks as a demonstrator. The car is fully loaded as you'd expect & the only extras i'm aware of are the Solar Sunroof, Tracker Monitor & factory fitted dark tinted windows, which look awesome against the dark exterior & Silver Silk Nappa interior 8) .

As a new RS6 owner, are there any obvious things i need to watch out for (except watching my driving license gain some new markings) in the early days & any certain traits i need to be aware of & are there any common faults applicable to RS6's

All help & advice would be gratefully received, as these motors are not cheap & to date its by far the most cash i've shelled out on a car.

Welcome to RS246 :D
and congratulations of a super sounding and speced car, the RS6 community is small here but growning everyday, and we encourage new owners to participate in the RS6 forums as much as possible, due to the cost of the car, not so many owners about, or generally the type of owner dosent frequent forums, but with the prices coming down we are hoping for a bigger community to evolve,
Cheers

Yeah it's me. I go and get the S4 off Big Jon on Saturday morning. I can't wait. Jump in and then drive to Bath and then back home.

p.s. How about looking in the trackday forum on here. Check out the evening session. I'm going so I can get a feel for the car with loads of run off. I've had enough of Armco for one lifetime :bash:

The RS6 is a great car in more ways than most, but it aint a sports car.
