Happy man

Post by usmlm » Fri Sep 12, 2003 6:35 pm

Hi - Just checking out the forum. I was on a waiting list for an S4 and just happened to be in the dealership yesterday and found out a RS6 just became available. Needless to say I immediately put down a deposit and have spent the last 24 hours with a huge grin on my face. I should take delivery in mid-December. I have been dreaming about an RS6 since i first heard of them but never thought I would have the opportunity to own one. Right now life seems very, very good.

The RS6 is the kind of car to take the US by storm. It's a shame the RS4 was such hard work to get 'over the pond'. Hope you enjoy it, and hope that you can give us an idea of what the ownership experience is like in the US.

I think I might start publishing where in the world I'm going to be and see if I can hook up with some of our international members . Free personal RS246 sticker delivery and fitting.

Indeed, and a truly honourable history .

Hope you enjoy RS246.

If you want to get an international flavour, then a visit to RS6.com is well worthwhile.

Why would I go there? We have plenty of people from overseas here you know. I didn't just mean RS6 owners either....

No, but it's been fascinating to observe the reactions of the Americans as their RS6s started to arrive.

Reference my driving training/experience: While in the military I was assigned to a special unit based in Berlin Germany from 1988 - 1991. We would operate in two man, occasionally three man, teams conducting operations in East Germany. My primary duty was security for the team and operation of the vehicle (Mercedes G-Wagons). I was trained by the unit I was assigned to, by a special unit of West German police in Berlin and by a British military unit. I had 50, two to three day, missions into East Germany. After that I went into law enforcment and had EVOC (emergency vehicle operations) training. Last year I attended Protection Driver training in Las Vegas put on by Crossroads Training Academy. They are connected with Tony Scotti. I plan on going to more training (Protection Driver and High Risk Driving) in Las Vegas this year. Yes, three months is a long time to wait for my RS6 but actually I think I have been waiting all my life for this car, so 3 months isn't all that long.
