broken chain tensioner guide

So I broke my valve tensioner guide. Chain still seems to be tight around the tensioner and gears.
What are the chances that it jumped timing? Is it like 100% if the guide breaks the chain jumps?

Also has anyone had luck just replacing the guide itself and not the whole tensioner?

I doubt it would have skipped a link.

Some useful info here:

This is the correct part, as fitted to my old RS6:

And I think this is the other side:

This was the thread I did on them: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=133688&p=974425
I also replaced the shoes on the adjuster I didn't replace and all worked well. I didn't like the blauparts adjusters, I used the ones Nobby has also used. Can't remember why I didn't like the blauparts ones, now.

so I originally took off the wrong side (bank 1), put that all back on then worked on bank 2, got the chain tensioner replaced and everything put back together.
Now Bank 1 valve cover is leaking. I took it off again, double checked everything was cleaned, put back in and torqued down properly and it is still leaking.
I replaced the PCV and it didnt help.

Has anyone else had a lot of trouble getting the valve cover to stop leaking? I am assuming the gasket is just not seated correctly but it is a huge pain to get off and on in the engine bay.
Just wondering if anyone else had issues with cover leakage and what ended up being the problem?
