The a/c blocked pipe issue

After experiencing a flooded passenger floor well and some research plus advice on here I narrowed it down to a blocked aircon drainage plug.

First time I’m tinkering with my one and they reckon a 30 minute job so being hamfisted I planned on double that.
Essentially you’ll need an 8 mm socket, Philips screwdriver, patience and some flexibility as it’s a wee bit tight in places!oh and 100% a head torch etc.
Glovebox coming off is easy enough and reveals the mess of wires etc behind:
I just rested the glovebox on the chair after unplugging the electrics. To pull apart the floor matting is a bit of a faff so there’s a side panel that runs up the side of the door that needs unscrewing (one screw is behind a small panel on the panel itself).
You can see what an issue a flood down there would be and cause all sorts of drama what with all the electrics:
You’ll have to bend the carpeting back to expose the drainage port in question:
There are three bolts holding the drainage pipe in place-I could get two (one is behind the main pipe and out of sight so you have to feel for it) and the third I could barely feel so I left it but it allowed me enough room to move the pipe to one side. Water was coming out so I could tell it was blocked. As the video suggests there is a rubber port that gets blocked so I improvised with a wooden kebab stick:
Gunk was coming out but what was probably needed was some compressed air (note to self and others-have that as well to blast any gunk out the bottom).
I couldn’t tell if it was clear but starting her up and running the a/c at full blast showed no more water coming out and a slow steady drip out the bottom of the car which told me it was clear.
After that just a reverse job putting it all back together and hey presto! Took me around 45 mins and saved me a couple of hundred quid in garage fees.
Compared to previous owner Matt this is the smallest of potatoes but I’m well aware of my limitations so this is one of the few jobs I’ll Take on myself.
