Avant Rear Wiper Motor Leaking

Post by Mɐʇʇ » Wed Mar 20, 2024 4:28 pm

Sorting out a few things on the RS at the moment, one of which is the rear wiper motor leaks washer fluid.
All over the inside of the wiring at the rear, which has caused the boot lid microswitch to fail.
Fortunately had a spare latch "in stock", so that bit was easy.

Anyway, the rear washer leaking seems to be another "they do that" thing. If it starts leaking, you have two choices:
1. A repair kit for it, part number 8L0998711
2. The original washer unit is a Valeo unit, Audi part number 8L0955711B or Valeo part number 404430. You can buy an OE Valeo one from autodoc here for not much more than the cost of the repair kit.

I seem to remember footlong getting one from ECP which parked on the wrong side. Handy for those who have upgraded the rear wipers though which look better parked on the wrong side.

I can see a starline one on ECP - which I am sure would be fine too. :)

That’ll go nicely with my Ling Long tyres.

But being rock hard, at least they'll never wear out.

Not before you wrap it around a tree, at least.
