I bought my chains from autodoc. Think they were Febi branded.

The expensive bit will be the cam adjusters. They are £500 each from Audi. Someone on here has good experience with an alternative that didn’t seem like cheap Chinese copies. If you don’t think they are faulty then you could always just change the pads.

Blauparts did a kit I think.

The biggest ball ache is you have to remove the cams to do it . The cam cap bolts are "in theory", single use, and it's a bit nerve racking manoeuvring both cams, the chain and the adjusters as an assembly and not dropping anything. Not hard, but you don't want to drop the cams.

I did replace my chains too - although comparing the old with new, I could see no evidence at all of wear on the old - it was just the plastic shoes that had worn on one side, and the other the adjuster had ingested the gauze filter on the inlet into itself. Probably been like that since new, but couldn't bear to put it back together with a known "risk".

As Matt says it’s cams out. Whilst your doing that is all cam bolts replace. That’s about £50 worth

Cambelt removal - so might as well do all that. Around £500 depending if you using genuine parts.

Can seals, half moon seals and cam washer plus rocker
Cover gaskets are another £40 each side.

It all adds up……

I've got both OEM and aftermarket versions of this lot here and they're indistinguishable from each other. So if you can still easily get the audi ones, great, but if not, I think wisely chosen aftermarket gaskets and seals are good.

WHT002015 is the part number for the camshaft bolts - and still listed as available.

My local Audi (Oxford) said the cam washer were on back order and couldn’t get them.

Think I got them from LLLP parts in the end.
