Chain tensioner issues?

Post by srichards » Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:32 am

Saw this last night. It's a really useful video on the chain tensioner system. This guy had bother with the adjustment being out as the solenoid wasn't operating on one bank as it turned out.

Good video.

I sympathise with his dilemma, but ultimately it's got to be OE quality parts. Rockauto do them much cheaper than the stealer.

Nice clear explanation of how the system works, I didnt realise that it was tensioner and timing adjustment at the same time.

The Vaico adjusters/tensioners I found are good.
