The Latest on My Power Steering Issues

Post by BLITZEN » Tue Jul 11, 2023 7:30 pm

So the Shop I took my RS6 to (after losing it's power steering fluid) said there were three power steering hoses that all are bad and need replacing. Really? All three went bad at the exact same time? According to them the hoses are no longer available, have to be custom made for $300 a piece, and will require $1200 in labor to install (at $150/hr equalling 8 hours). Whaddya ya'll think? Gimme some advice.

Try Audi tradition in Germany. I recently had a load of hoses from them. Failing that.
Also try RS motorsport also in Germany
Fingers crossed for you.

I had my power steering hoses done about 2 years ago.
IIRC They moved the engine forward to get access to the unions.
However. My steering rack was recently replaced. They didn’t have to move the engine. So I guess it depends on expertise of the garage you are using.
