Anodising roof bars and window trim

So I’ve been out on the road today dropping off my parts for powder coating and plating.
Armed with the window trim I’d removed I asked the guys who do my plating what they could do with it. They said that they couldn’t match the colour but they new a company that could and sent me on my way.
I arrived at this new
Shop who showed me a sample of “soft” anodising that was spot on. Unfortunately their issue was the size of their tanks which were unable to take the length of the to trim. They gave me the address of a company who might be able to accommodate my massive length and again of I went.
Arriving a South Coast Anodising they told me that they could match the original colour and that their tank was 2.2m long. Staidly the top rail is 2.8m long.
Has anyone found a firm with a long enough tank to take the part?

I have a feeling they are lacquered after anodising. Did they say anything about that?
I'd be interested to know more about the process to get that satin look. I'm thinking about the wing mirrors, for example.

Personally, from my dealings with lacquer, I would say they’re not. If they were there would be a softer material we could cut and from what I can see and feel there isn’t. However, I will put the question to the next company I visit.

Good word, even if it was autocorrect.

Yes I did. Leave the car on axel stands for another couple of months and forget all about it.
Seriously though I didn’t. I can’t find anyone with a long enough take. I also tried several chemical cleans to no avail.
The last step would be a fine papering to bring back a more defined brushed effect. I’m happy to give it a go as I’m not satisfied with the current look and if all fails I’ll then go and get them powder coated either a satin black or they do do a brushed ally effect.

Oh. I found a place that did 2.8m lengths which is why I asked. Can’t remember who it was now. I’ll see if it’s the place that did my anodising.

Have you still got the anodising company details I sent you a while back Ben.
I could poss get the info again from the company I used to work for if you don’t have them.
Just wondering if they had decent sized tanks.

Sorry, Steve, my memory is so crap that I completely forgot all about that. Yeah, if you can be bothered, it'd be useful to have the details, but don't worry about it too much. No rush.
I used a place in Malvern recently that were reasonably priced and very quick turn-around. I'd recommend. Might be worth asking if they can do that length.

This is the place I came across that does 2.8m:

I haven't had any dealings with them, but I shortlisted them because they were well reviewed.

Here you go. But I don’t know what sizes they go up to. But might be worth a phone call.
Quality work. The company I used to work for highly rated them.

That’s great, thanks Ben. Once the car is back on the road I’ll follow it up.
