Carbon fibre power steering res cover

Post by Sxcarmyboi » Sat Feb 04, 2023 3:52 pm

As most if not all of you will know I am currently having lots of carbon fibre bits produced for my C5 RS6 avant (some stuff does fit the sedan too)

We have now started making the first power steering res cover for the engine bay.

I will update with more pics as progress moves forward.

If you are interested in buying one of these just speak to me and I will be able to sort you out. Once they are finalised.

Damn you, you think your carbon fibre bling is going to tempt me again.

Oh hang on, the stock item is a bit rubbish isn't. And proper carbon is nice.

Count me in.

I did visit a Jap restoration company the other day that retro fitted a proper carbon fibre roof to a Evo. I’d love to do this to the RS. 😎

@ChrisA I will be doing a carbon roof probably next year. Urgent state is engine build then next year I plan to do a full body respray and that’s when we will do the carbon roof (finger crossed)

I would also like to take this time to update everybody on the process for us making these parts has now changed as with the purchase of an oven so we can now do prepreg parts. This means the finish on parts is 100x better now too whilst also being stinger and lighter too.

The price for these is working out at £150 but I’m also sure he would be willing to do a group buy.

Fitted to my car now. The weave is also placed so that it matches the factory weave angle. Just as we have done with all the bits under the bonnet.

The finish looks better than my Air intakes, mine are covered in what looks like fish eyes.

The process has now changed and it’s all done with prepreg carbon and then baked in the oven.

This give 100% better finishes over how the intakes where made.

To all those people that have been waiting for the carbon fibre parts. I can confirm we will be up and running again in no longer than 2 weeks. We will start but making bits for people that have been waiting first then start making new parts for our lovely car again. All parts will be made for the RS6 standard parts (avant and sedan) as we now have the option for both👌🏼some of these parts will also fit the normal model C5’s too.
