Jesus, that’s some dedication for a weeping rack Steve
Who’s doing the work? What’s the hourly rate?
Every now and again we kept getting a tiny oil patch on the relatively new drive.
Had a few oil leaks which unit 20 rectified.
Lee and myself under the car with engine running and no further leaks detected.
But soon after a wet patch was noticed on the drive.
My car then failed its mot for a displaced steering rack gaiter. Fixed and mot issued.
So bought two new gaiters.
Asked garage to replace them.
That’s when it was noticed that oil was present in the gaiters.
To be fair hardly notice any drop in power steering fluid in the reservoir.
If we had a old driveway I would probably leave it.
But the occasional drops of oil on the drive has been sending us nuts. And it’s got kinda personal.
Local garage is outsourcing the rack overhaul.
And they will probably do the install.
I think hourly rate is around £60.
