They do throw a check engine light, annoyingly. You could keep the old one plugged in - presumably it wasn't giving errors.
Ah that's not the news I needed Image. I've rewelded the sensor as it was. The car was for sure not throwing engine check light on before I started working on it.

... Pretty sure the sensor was also just hanging there. I did remove the ac compressor and the PS steering pump, but I don't remember even getting close to that area.

When I changed the CPS I did rummage around the mount but the sensor was already hanging off the cable.

Fingers crossed I guess. It'd be a waste of work and fluids to have to remove the lock carrier once again.

Yeah, but it was connected so no CEL.

Yep assuming the same an going YOLO.Image

On another note, checking my assumptions. These driveshaft bolts are stretch bolts and not reusable

Image

However these M10s that attach to the flange on the gearbox are reusable (add locktite)
- Wrong, they also need replacing

Cheers.

Got my answer from Bentley's. Both groups are to be replaced.

Got all screws brand new.

Looking at auto-doc I get about 4 different Bosch oil filter, ranging from 6 all the way to 65 european shillings (m539 :)). Confused. Any experience or advise would be highly appreciated.

I'd get a Mann or OE filter.

Autodoc is being a bit crap there. The RS6 uses a cartridge filter like the first 3.

Why don't you cross-reference the OE part number?

I'll go for the Mann filter then. My biggest problem at the moment is the radiator plug. It's not available anywhere. I'm hoping I can reuse the radiator from the donor car.

Looks like it would be easy enough to machine a new one if it came to it.
