Easiest way to order genuine parts

Have been using the car a lot recently and all performing well. It's currently filthy.
However did a scan yesterday and saw an N249 electrical error pop up so I will replace it as a matter of course.

But what's the easiest way to order parts these days? Camberley used to have a really good parts department, but since they've moved to Farnborough, they're not geared up with a "proper" parts department any more. I have to sit in dirty overalls (just to make the point) in their glossy showroom with all the sales reps sneering at me. Yes mate, I could buy that car, I just don't want to.

Is there an easy way of ordering genuine parts and even better, just get them posted to me? Or do I have to put the overalls on and smear grease on my face again... :boohoo:

Otherwise autodoc do a Pierburg brand N249 which I could try in my usual guinea pig manner.

Have you got a TPS locally? some branches will deal with the public and some won't. I'm lucky as a family member works for my local branch, just a shame so many parts are NLA

There's one in Guildford that has refused to sell to me before. The part is still available, I checked.
Used in various vehicles, a variety of turbo petrol Audi's VWs, Skoda, Seat. Even Bentley.

I have just been googling and then gone and had a look at it on the car.
I believe Pierburg is the OE for this part, mine has the VW logo on, the VW part number and the Pierburg part number too.

I shall give it a go and report back - all being well, another cost saving alternate source for us!

It drives me batshit not being able to buy oe parts online. I used to be able to for my bm but BMW shut them down. Wtf.

Stoke Audi will generally give a modest discount and post it out to you.

Alternatively I have had success googling the part number on eBay and finding a parts place in Latvia ou similar that has one. Every time the part’s been a genuine vag part.

Also LLL parts keeps popping up on my radar when I search for part numbers. Something about them makes me reluctant but there’s a part I’ll be ordering from them soon as an experiment.

Yes Ben. I have also ordered parts from Latvia and Lithuania via EBay. Always been genuine parts and either new or VGC.

Are Stoke Audi good at getting the right parts? I've had a few issues with main dealers somehow failing to get the correct part if there are multiple possibilities.

I only ever order by part number. Sometimes we want a part that's officially the wrong part, but technically the right part for our cars - handbrake cables and front brake pads are 2 examples that are officially NLA, but we know there are other parts that fit.

At worst, the parts guys appreciate it since it saves them time and I know I've got the part I think I want.
At best, they used to let me have trade prices @ Camberley Audi
