Coilovers
Re: Coilovers
Cool. I would tack the cylinder back together though. At several points around the circumference.

Re: Coilovers
Hard to say without seeing it up close. Solder won't do it IMO. MIG / TIG I think the best bet. It might not appreciate a bead all the way round so I'd probably tack it in 8 locations around the circumference.

Re: Coilovers
(TIG) Weld would be much more precise. To solder, you’d probably end up putting quite a bit more heat than you like in.

Re: Coilovers
Cheers guys. I’ll carry on with the reconditioning for now and leave that to the end.
Re: Coilovers
I don’t know if this is of any use to anyone but Auto doc have 40% off today.
As a result I’ve cancelled my B14 order and have now brought a set of B16 PSS9s as they’re delivered for £1250.

Re: Coilovers
Wow. That's a bargain! Nice one. You won't regret it, they are much better.

Re: Coilovers
The B14 were just getting pushed back each month so I’d been keeping an eye on Auto Docs prices.
Yes, I’m happy knowing it’s the same set up as previous as the ride was great.

Re: Coilovers
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I have fitted the front Bilsteins. She now seat very clear of the arch to a point that I think I might lower her 10mm if she doesn’t settle down.
Still got the rears to fit but I’m in no hurry to do this and will enjoy having the car back on the road for a bit.

Re: Coilovers
Seems a bit high. I'm surprised you can go that high. I'm pretty sure mine is almost maxed out in height and it's nowhere near that high. Mine did settle slightly after a few weeks, I seem to remember. Though it was a long time ago and my memory's crap.
Are these PSS9 or PSS10?

Yeah, it is a little high but pretty sure it'll settle down a bit.
