Chesters don't as standard, they do the internals. But it's a good shout to do while the box is out if you're on the original switch still.

Merry f**ken Christmas season alright... Family dinner last night with my parents. Took the old man for his 1st run in the 6. "Looking good nick inside" he says, then follows up with "Not an uncommon issue with these?". 'Wut?', thinks I.

He's sitting there stroking a sagging headliner just behind the front roof light.

Mother f**ker
(technically I'm not wrong.. considering the company at the time)
That wasn't like that last time I was there, even on the drive over..

Just bought the Total Technik video, there goes my holiday....thanks for the early present Santa - ya c**t.

Bloody decomposing foam is the bane of long term VAG car ownership. Mine is still spitting bits of black foam lining at me from the heater vents.

Ikr. Thanks for the air quality sensor Audi, wouldn't want those diesel particulates getting in. Now, you did say it was ok to aspirate pieces of the car right?

I'd wondered what those bits of foam on the dashboard were - now I know!

I was getting this a few months ago, cue leaving the car for a few months and plenty of possible condensation, my roof lining is sagging more than my wrinkly billiards since turning 40!!!

Not had a single reply from the 2 places I emailed. Wondering if it's due to the Xmas period, or if they just don't want to do it.

It was via the contact section on their sites, so I may fire off a direct email and then maybe follow up with a phone call.

Even Unit20 didn't reply via the contact section on their site when I enquired about the Cambelt several months ago, and they are meant to be pretty hot on that sort of thing, so maybe there are some issues with that system.

That's a reasonable price for all the labour involved too.

Yes, all in price. That doesn't include anything else that might be found during the process though.

I'm wondering if it's time to get rid of the car. I'm thinking I would have to be an idiot to spend that amount, betting it's going to be closer to 6 with other bits..... That means I will have spent close to 9Grand in the last few months, for which I could have bought another car.

Sensible me is thinking now..... haha

I have had that debate. I could spend the money on another car, but it wouldn't be a 500hp twin turbo V8. So I keep the car.

You were mad when you bought it. We're all mad idiots. :biggrin3:

On any measure of sensible, RS6 ownership is daft. It's always been daft.

But something like a Golf R or an M140i would eat it alive. I just like the size and the practicality that goes along with the power.

FFS.... I hope sensible me goes away soon and idiot me comes back :rocker:
