Hello/Introduction

Post by beatsyrs6 » Sun Sep 12, 2021 7:13 pm

Hi Everyone.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Yesterday I picked up my 2003 RS6 Saloon. Traded it for my Focus ST (bit of a difference), having used this forum for quite literally tens of hours of research before I made the decision, I just wanted to thank everyone for all the advice and help that they have put on the forum. It definitely helped me when choosing the right car.
After reading all about the common issues and niggles of owning such a wonderful piece of engineering. I knew exactly what to look for and what to look at when buying.
The car I have got has an absolute mountain of paperwork (just ticked over 100,000 miles). It had a replacement gearbox at 51k miles. As well as the DRC suspension being replaced with the rock solid Bilsteins  . Every year since it has had its gearbox and engine serviced without fail. Has been looked after by both MRC and UNIT 20 only (another factor which encouraged me after reading on here). Has all of its service stamps and a full service history. Had a brand new alternator and belts less than 1000 miles ago and new pads and discs 2 days ago.
The car interior is immaculate and the leather and overall condition is almost like factory (felt newer than my 16 plate focus  ) it has everything included from when it was new (first aid kit, and ski bag, and also has something called the Dynamic lighting pack (so I was told) ?? All the interior lights, foot wells, and welcome lights are bright white LEDs.
Drove her 300 miles home without a single fault, all temps held perfect, battery voltage bang on 14v, and gearbox was all smooth.
Gave her a good bath today and the paint work scrubbed up unbelievably well for 18 years old !! (2 years younger than me 🤣) there is the slightest bit of lacquer peel on the rear doors so I am open to any advice on how to best sort that before it gets any worse. As for the rest of the paint it’s perfect, few stone chips as expected, but that’s it.
As for that the car is fantastic. The power is addictive. An absolutely unreal car that had me smiling the four hours home.
I look forward to using the forum more and more and no doubt using this forum in the near future for any advice and help.
Beats.

Welcome to the site !

Hope you have one of those tree's outside that grows those 20 notes ? You also chose the fastest colour. It's widely known they have about 50bhp over the other shades. Others may tell you different, but don't listen to them :P

Think my colour is fastest around the south east ;).
As for my “special” tree, I only planted it yesterday, need it to hurry up and grow !!
Already put in £160 this past weekend, worth every penny. 8)

I am afraid that anything that’s a lot of fun usually comes with a cost.
But well worth it.
Just enjoy the journey.
Mark-rs. Dug up the money tree with £20:00 notes.
Used to run out all the time.
Replanted a hybrid evergreen that grows £50:00 notes.
Hope this one bears lots of fruit all year round.
