Is it smoking from both exhausts?

seems to be but I do have an X pipe setup so it would do that even if one of my turbos was leaking oil...

Did you check your DVs?

So I started to pull the intake manifold last week, could hear the boost leak coming from under the manifold so I thought I would do an SAI delete and sort out the engine speed sensor at the same time....

At the point of trying to actually pull the manifold and battling for an hour I have now decided to just pull the motor and do everything that needs to be done... started that on Friday but it started raining and hasnt stopped since...

for those following my little saga, the weather held up a little today so I managed to get most of the engine pull stuff done. while disconnecting the exhausts and prop shaft etc I noticed oil in the drivers side (rhd) exhaust so obviously this is where my smoking issue was coming from its weird that it was only on deceleration though? There is oil in the intake manifold though BUT not in the intake pipes from the turbos so its probably a combination of a few things, glad I decided to do the engine pull it would have had to be done at some point.

Lot of oil in there. Best to renew all the PCV and vac pipes while it's all out.

On deceleration, there is depression in your manifold and the engine will suck all accumulated dirt in the PCV system (see below). Time for a proper clean-up I suppose, along with changing ALL non-return valves (16 + all those under the manifold).

Is replacing the pipes necessary, or just the valves? I don't have the smoke issue but when changing the PS pump I did have a bit of oil around the throttle body, and some that came out of lower IC pipes (during a different job). I'm guessing with failed/failing PCV valves that there could be a collection of oil over time in the post turbo side of th intake system?

There’s always a bit of oil that accumulates in the boost hoses.

Going to be removing most of them with the SAI delete, havent got the manifold off yet to see exactly how I am going to do it but more than likely only have a single check valve for the vacuum line to the brake booster and then have an oil catch can for the crank case breathers.

Did a bit more today just stuck removing the gear selector cable... its in a really tight spot and after battling for an hour decided to have a break. All thats left is the selector cable and the 2 rear sub frame bolts then the motor will be out, nearly there :bash:

It's a fair bit work, but pretty satisfying to get all the jobs done in one go.

motor out... passenger side turbo its the one NOt leaking oil but the compressor wheel is damaged and there is lots of up and down play on the turbo shaft so looks like I caught this just in time still need to take the drivers side turbo off then send them in tomorrow.
