I'm thinking to kit my car out with some roof bars & platform.
I'd like to keep it as simple looking as possible. I was thinking about some low-profile roof bars mounted between the existing bars and then a modular platform above. Preferably the bars between the existing won't add any height so would be mounted between instead of ontop of.
The spare rim could then go on the roof.
I'm hoping I can carry a decent amount of stuff and still have enough space to sleep-solo in the back when needed.
Can anyone recommend a low-profile system for our cars similar to this:

I am then thinking to fit a platform like this above:

or

Anyone had success with anything similar?

I've got the Thule Aero Wingbar setup that I use on mine when I need it. It's looks similar to your linky and is decent.
