Solenoids in gearbox
Does anyone know if it's easy enough to change a valve body on the drive?
I've done my gearbox oil and filter on my drive, so I can get access.
I have several open circuit solenoids, EDS 2, EDS 3, EDS 5 and TSS.
This gearbox has been driving (well sort of) me <beep> mad since 2016.
I've had a "specialist" overhaul the known faults with these and other ZF 5 speeds and it made no difference.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s too troublesome. If you’ve got multiple failures you should consider whether your TCU is knackered.

Could it possibly be the wiring loom in the box?

Not impossible. Less likely though, I’d have thought.

I've measured them from the tcu connector, then directly on the gearbox plug, and got the same results.

Update. So I've installed a valve body. (the solenoids had the same resistance figures as my old ones).
The oil was in good condition.
But I've still got 'slipping in second'.
I've decided to get the TCU tested but no one can do it.
I've tried Ecu testing, Bba, Bluehawk, Actronics, Jt Automatics, Control Units and Ecu Tronics.
The problem now (as it has been since 2016) is code 17116 incorrect ratio gear 2.
Has anyone any ideas?
I'm hoping the repair and torque converter replacement in 2018 was done properly.
I know the torque converter code went away afterwards, but still this 17116 remains.

Sounds like the clutches in the boxes are worn then. Or some of the plumbing in the box is leaking.

I wondered if it was pressure or clutches.

It's possible that the former caused the latter, even in a short amount of time.
Or if the ATF is low then you could get it.
Or if the pick-up pipe is too long causing oil starvation you could get it.

OMG Shopp. Sure enough, it was that pipe.
Split on the flange.
Looks like that particular one might be under stress from new, as my new one need a bit of adjustment to get the ends in square.

Just trying to get my bearings, where is the valve body and is it hard to remove?
