I assume it was inlet manifold off. Not an engine out job, but still a fair bit of work including lock carrier into service position - which IIRC is about an hour each way on it's own.

Yes mate it was manifold off, but as you’ve said no we’re near what Awesome GTI we’re saying regarding engine out, but that’s the difference when you know these cars like Unit 20 Do Absolutely over the moon it got sorted.

Think that’s what I’m going to have to go with, what about the exhaust I mentioned is that miltek non res, and is there a lot of difference in the sound etc ?

Had a Miltec exhaust on mine when I bought it.
Far too loud for me. I put the original exhaust back on.
For me it’s far better.
However it’s down to personal choice.
Lots of owners have aftermarket exhausts. And they prefer them. They can sound nice.
That ones up to you Barry

Expand the photo. You will see the badge that I purchased from eBay.
Also shows the recent replacement headlight switch. Original was full of fingernail scratches.
As was the electric door mirror switch surround.
Hope you enjoy the journey.

We’re did you get your headlight replacement switch from ? These little details don’t half make a difference, going to order the steering wheel badge right now 👍

Headlight switch was from Audi. I will dig out the part number and the price for you if you want.
The electric door mirror switch is in 3 parts. The switch the knob and the plastic surround.
If your mirror switch is working you can just get the plastic surround ( the black bit with the symbols on it ).

Sorry I had previously been saying menu switch.
I meant the electric door mirror switch.

I had the same scratches on the climate control buttons. Especially the plus and minus buttons.
I bought a cheap broken unit from Lithuania on ebay that had good buttons. They were very easy to swop over.

The little touches on the interior make it a very nice place to be. Anyway it makes me smile when I get in ?

All these years later. When I walk away from the C5. I still look back at her in admiration. They just have a lovely presence.

Yes if you can dig out the part number for the headlight switch, it would be appreciated, I have the same marks on the + - myself, also the centre piece , near the handbrake could do with a reverb.

Yeah, I have a non-resonating miltek on mine and I like it - but it's just personal choice, there's no right or wrong.

If I’m going to go down the route of exhaust change, then I think non res is the way forward I think, Matt and Steve no issue with MOTs etc with it on ?

None. All the catalysts are still in place and it's only a bit louder than stock, nothing major.

OE exhaust for me. I don't like noisy cars.
