Hi dunc. Yes it was a great fix.
In fact the difference was unbelievable.
Brilliant ride on any road conditions.
Spending more money in Neston very soon. So strip club is a non starter.

One hell of a test drive on Britain’s worst road. The A180 from Barnetby top to cleethorpes.
No noise or any vibration through the steering column.
Just pure joy.
Cannot believe the transformation
If I had known about this fix before it could have saved me a lot of money.
And yes. It did take 20 mins.

Didn’t want to stop driving I just kept on going. Steered at all the crap surfaces and it was soooooo pleasant. This has got to be the best tip ever.
Also hit the 300 yards of speed retarders at 60 mph unbelievable not a murmur. Usually have to reduce my speed to 30 mph and allow fiat punto,s to overtake me on this section.

Good to hear Steve, i'll get my fat lazy ar$e out and have a go at sorting mine this weekend hopefully

Don’t hesitate. Totally transformed my car.
I will be out in it all day today with all the seats occupied.
And really looking forward to the drive.
And I will probably be steering at all the rough parts of the road. Because now I can without cursing.

OMG. All day in the car. On motorways, A Roads and some crap B Roads. All seats occupied.
Car drives like new.
And all for installing 5 cable ties.
Just confirms that I know nothing about cars.
I was convinced that it was a suspension problem. Even with new bilsteins installed.

Not every day you see an RS6 owner as happy as a dog with two (fill in preferred description). More or less at no cost either. That goes against all the rules but good luck to you, and I'll squirrel away that bit of info for a rainy day too.

After the pedal box fix.
The car is so quiet now that I am listening for any little squeak or rattle. Yeah I know this is way over the top and totally obsessive. But that’s me !
However I rarely have music playing.
And what else can you do on a Sunday morning.
Found a tiny squeak (on rough roads) which I eventually traced to the glovebox door. I think you can adjust the position of the latch bar that holds the door closed. I can see a screw holds it in place. But at the moment cannot identify what screwdriver I need to use.
No fun upside down with very little room for a standard length of screwdriver.
Will persevere and get it sorted one way or another.

I know shopp. I am aware it’s a lovely position to be in.
Still have the two oil leaks though.
Just waiting for the trip to Neston.
Seriously I cannot believe the difference the pedal box fix has made. I just keep jumping in the car and going for a drive. So quiet on any surface.
Without the forum members help. I would never have found this particular problem. My round when we eventually meet up.

Glovebox rattle
Bought a roll of self adhesive felt. Applied to glovebox door and frame. Test drive rattle still there.
Bought a roll of self adhesive rubber and applied it to glovebox door and frame.
Test drive rattle still there.
Tried all sorts could not eliminate rattle.
Then tried black cardboard pushed tightly into the gap at the top of the glovebox door handle and locked it.
Success. No more rattle

I hate rattles and squeaks. Always such a pain to sort.

Only problem now that the rattles and pedal box has been sorted. I can hear my wife talking to me.
