Injectors refurbishing kit ?

Post by Classik » Fri May 28, 2021 8:39 pm

Hey all,

I've just bought this injector testing/cleaning machine in hope this will last enough time until we'll all drive e-cars..

2 questions please:

1/ Which comprehensive refurbishing kit (=o-rings, filters & plastic nose) that would fit for our injectors [077133551AA / Bosch 62706 / 0280156167 EV6ES] would you recommend? Ideally I'm looking for something similar to this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121827277931 ... SwiYFXJOQE (waiting for the vendor's reply btw)
2/ For the machine ^^ I've found the cleaning fluid, but still hesitating for the test fluid. Some sites recommend very specialized fluid like Viscor 16A or 16B, but seems quite difficult to source (and overkill maybe?). Any suggestions ?
(and no, using benzine is NOT an option :FIREdevil: )

Thanks !

For the record the vendor recommended this kit that I've just ordered :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-V8-02 ... 1834983756
Although the injector ref is not exactly the same as ours, the seller double confirmed 100% compatibility.

As far as the testing fluid is concerned, he recommends Asnu flowrite / N-Heptane.

I'll make sure to report as soon as I receive the parts.

I can’t help with any technical question but if you want a set of injectors to practice on I have 6 injector from my Nissan 300ZX (two of which are showing very high resistance) that you can play with. I’m probably going to upgrade when funds allow so if you mess them up it’s no real lose.

Thank you for the proposal, but using the machine is quite straightforward, no need to practice before doing the real deal 😉

Quick update :
During the tests, 2 injectors appeared to be weaker than the others, even after ultrasonic cleaning. One had significantly less flow, and the other even ended up staying fully open when pushed to 4.5 bars! :? Glad I found this before putting them back in place!! So I bought a pair, new.
After full cleaning and reconditioning with the new Viton o-rings, filters and pintle caps, the old 6 injectors are now perfectly matched with the new ones (same flow at all speed / pressure / duty cycle) and good to go for quite a while :

Satisfying when a tester finds duff components.

Definitely! I'll make sure to report when it will be all reinstalled, hopefully this should make a nice difference.
