Front drivers door and hinges

Post by skyegtb » Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:12 pm

Sadly my car has suffered some damage. The drivers door was caught in an extremely heavy gust of wind recently and ended up bending all the way forward causing damage to the front wing, both door hinges and the door itself. Currently the door will not close as the frame the hinges bolt to has been bent at the point the top hinge joins the body and the door is bent in where the bottom hinge is bolted to the car..... Gutted is an understatement.

Anyway, as my hobby is car restoration, and I have a home made spray booth in my shed, I intend to do the repair myself and at the same time give the car a full respray, as it was starting to look a bit rough after 18 years and 70,000 miles. My question is this: Are the doors on an RS6 C5 specific to the RS6 or will doors from any C5 A6 fit? I know that C5 allroad doors are different as I also own one of them, but the only visible difference is that the allroad doors do not have the central plastic strip in the door, they are a flat panel. The reason I ask is that I need to source new hinges and most likely a new door skin and RS6 ones are very thin on the ground, but normal A6 ones are much more plentiful and a lot cheaper.

Hopefully someone can answer this. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Looks like the same part number for an RS6 as for a boggo A6.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

I might have found the answer. On searching here: http://www.oemepc.com/audi/part_single/ ... 958/lang/e
I found that the part number 4B0831052D for front right door is the same for standard A6, A6 quattro and RS6 for the C5's.

Cool! Just found the same info myself. Looks like it might be a reasonably simple find so long as the replacement is free from rust. Cheers.
