Well its that time, my box has let go.
This has been my daily driver (I'm a risk taker) for 3 years now and has been almost faultless....quite the miracle!
Thankfully the car is under a mechanical warranty which covers the gearbox rebuild
Quick question has anyone used the Level10 'bulletproofing' (totally taken with a grain of salt) kit?
https://www.levelten.com/Audi_Vw_automa ... 0-7600.htm
I'm not planning on modifying the car in any way but I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon either so I am considering one of these kits for long term peace of mind. I would be keen to know if they actually do as they say and what compromises to shifting does it bring? I presume its not as smooth?
I have had a search and haven't found anything but apologies if this has been covered off elsewhere!
TIA!
Has anyone used the Level10 rebuild kit?

Re: Has anyone used the Level10 rebuild kit?
I would be very tempted by it. I doubt it will affect smoothness unless there’s a valve body mod.

How's it going Kiwi? Hope ya balls are hanging well over there!
As Shopp says, can't see the smoothness being affected with what's on that screen. You can have the software programmed for quicker shifts on this box, but that does make it a bit jerky.
Was it level10 where the 'verters were being sent for upgrades? If so, didn't a few people have issues with having to chase them up for timescale/info?

Re: Has anyone used the Level10 rebuild kit?
Covid free ballin over here Chunky!
Very lucky as not a lot has changed.
Keen to know of anything with L10 re having to chase, albeit I'll only be ordering a kit and having my local guy sort install as part of the rebuild. Once I get a clear diagnosis of what in my case has failed Ill make the call. At the mo I have brutal shifts and over revving when I give it some jandal.....not that I am giving it any at the mo while its behaving like this!
As this is a daily I have kept it stock (apart from the non res Milly on it) not sure I m too keen to modify something thats now 17 years old!

Re: Has anyone used the Level10 rebuild kit?
Yeah, my brother down there can't believe we're still screwed over here.
Just had a search through some really old posts on here (circa 2016) and it seems I got the wrong company. Think it was 517 that became a nightmare to deal with (one of the owners used to work for level10)
Ref modding yours, if you can get a good stage 1 engine and gearbox map you'll be amazed how much it transforms the C5! Not sure of you can remember mine when we did the rolling day together? The standard engine is fine with a stage 1 map, should have been like that from new.
If you're gonna do your box, get your verter done at the same time, doesn't have to be upgraded for higher torque but you could adjust the stall speed.
