YouTube showed me a RS6 video I'd not seen before and I happened to see an armrest with the original audi phone option in the upright position.
In the car I saw the underside of the armrest has a hole with plastic trim piece so the cable can get into the phone within.
Does anyone know if this is a factory piece I'd be able to search out?
If so I could find a complete armrest unit with one and It would tidy up my interior nicely.

Yup. Mine is like that photo. Without the cable now though.

Mine is the same as that, without the pipe at the bottom.
Inside it has...Or should I now say had a little button which you pressed to release the phone and it would glide forward up and out of the arm rest presenting you your phone
Removed it now though as I have no use for it, but alongside the old head unit I'll keep hold of it to put back to standard if need be.

Re: Armrest pivot trim part number?
Seems that some have the phone without the hole in the bottom. Or maybe mine was a retro-fitted phone.
Mine has the 4 points to fit the (now vintage cool) phone but no hole.
I've found a trashed armrest with the hole (4B0864245K/Armrest A Tower Tel) for EUR10. I'll have a go at pulling that apart and cutting a hole/fitting the hole-trim.
I've also got the head unit, phone holder, and Nokia/Audi phone for when it goes back to the original.

Re: Armrest pivot trim part number?
In the end, I took a hole saw to my armrest base:
Is there a standard colour that was used for our large plastic interior pieces? There are many similar colours out there.
(Mine is 2002, black-leather, white-piping, alu-trim)
Meaning I can now get the pivot trim on:
It looks good but I'd still like a factory finish so will switch the armrest base unit for a unit with this option. Is there a standard colour that was used for our large plastic interior pieces? There are many similar colours out there.

It's all SOUL BLACK for the RS6 IIRC.
Good solution for the hole. I'd just leave it like that.

Re: Armrest pivot trim part number?
I showed the good pictures.... the underside is a mess. I was going well until the last got where the plastic fractured instead of cut. there is a chip missing and the hole is bigger than the rubber trim. I'll keep an eye out for the correct piece and when it's the right price I'll switch it out. Just put it down to my project-OCD.. this is my first car project, but I have the same for (mtb/road) bikes.
