Must admit. I was surprised to find that they are still available. A bit pricey for a switch but does look so much better than the original scratched unit.

Re: Door mirror switch
It will just Finnish off the interior very nicely.
Re: Door mirror switch
Nice! In a similar vein of fixing sticky button syndrome, anyone looked at or have used one of those Sticker kits for their HVAC control?

Re: Door mirror switch
I went on eBay. Bought a broken HVAC unit with good buttons for peanuts. I think it came from Lithuania IIRC.
The buttons can be flipped out with a feeler gauge in the top. And replaced in seconds.
No need to remove radio or HVAC unit.
Just make sure they go in the right way. Best to do them one at a time and you won’t go wrong.

Excellent I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Re: Door mirror switch
Looks good, but does your car have folding mirrors?

Shop. Yes it’s always had folding mirrors. That was the problem.
Loads of switches available without fold. But I wanted to change like for like.
Took ages to find one.

Now I can't remember if mine has folding mirrors.

Re: Door mirror switch
I initially ordered a new switch from Audi. Looked nothing like my switch so returned it.
In fact it is the right switch but comes without the top plastic bit with the symbols.
At least I now know that they are still available.
Re: Door mirror switch
Sorting out these little things is like scratching an itch!
When you asked for the switch did the dealer clarify that the cover was seperate to the switch?

Re: Door mirror switch
No lander91. I wasn’t aware of it until you mentioned it.
I just assumed it was one unit.
Audi never mentioned it either.
So basically there are 3 separate parts to the switch
Switch itself
Then the plastic top with the symbols
Then the top knob.
So confusing isn’t it?

Re: Door mirror switch
Ah ok, I was trying to gauge the level of competency of the dealership, seems to be a bit of a common theme that if it's older than 5 years old it may as well be another brand.

Re: Door mirror switch
Steve's switch is the colour 'Satin Black'
Is this the only colour for interior trim pieces?
I have black leather with white piping.

Re: Door mirror switch
My interior is black with silver/white piping.
Not sure which. But the contrast on the black leather is just right imo.
The new replacement switch cover is a perfect swop from the one removed.
