dashcam - unswitched 12v - accessory - always on
I'm going to fit a Garmin 66W Dashcam that has a motion-triggered 'parking mode' recording function.
My car is in carpark that isn't the safest so this function sounds like piece of mind to me.
I've purchased the the 'parking-mode' fitting kit:
https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=s ... jkgZCqVj0A
I've been reading (going round in circles) about where to get the power from.
75x is the accessory output but this is switched (I believe), so I guess I can't use this one.
If I want the dashcam powered regardless of the key being in the ignition (i.e always-on), where would i fit the 'ACC' & 'BATT' wires?

Yeah, but next to the 75X terminal there’ll be a permanent positive feed.

Thanks Shoppinit.
I got this picture from another thread. I'll take a look at mine first thing tomorrow. This is a stupid question, I know nothing about electrics, which of the cables will I fit to the permanent positive feed? The fused 'BATT' or 'ACC'?
Thanks

Permanent positive to batt. 75x to acc.
30 should be permanent +12v.

I have an issue with my dash cam that you may not have with yours but but it would play havoc with the permanently on concept if you do. My camera doesn't overwrite the files on a 64 GB card, it stops and cycles through an announcement to format the SD card. That could throw a spanner in any security outcome you have in mind. I'd be more inclined to mount a camera inside the car that uploads the images to the net. Only way to be sure you would actually see the person involved. A smart thief wouldn't go near the front or back of a car these days with every man and his dog having dash cams.

Just to finish this thread. The dashcam works a treat. IchBautAuto is right, the saved 'ParkingMode' will fill up my memory card which isn't great. As it's in the building 'open-sided' car park there is no web to upload with.
Annoyingly the Garmin software doesn't have a time function where it records incidents between say 2300-0600. Maybe they'll add an update.
Shop was right about the connections, for clarity this is the install:
